Behind the scenes of a collaborative client project: full bathroom reno

DIY projects and renovations can be hard--on your body, your energy levels, your wallet, your relationship with your partner... so when I did my most recent project, this bathroom reno, I was excited that it wasn't at my house or draining my budget! But, I was working closely with my friends so there was a different dynamic. I was the designer, the tile layer/instructor, the schedule-driver... (and I was blogging about the project and wanted a great result! But, the most important thing was our friendship at the end.)

It was also my first time working with a team including clients and a contractor, and I learned a lot over the course of the 6-week reno! I'm dishing this week...
From the reveal post

This week on the Your Home Story podcast Ashley interviews me about the project--including completely renovating the bathroom (from dated, tired space to midcentury-inspired dream room), what went wrong, what set us behind schedule, why it can be so hard to make decisions like about plumbing and hardware, styling tips, and more! I also talked about adding my personal style through styling, while getting the black-brass-medium wood MCM look my clients loved.

  2. All the before pictures of the bathroom including the rubber baseboards, colored tub, and interesting vintage sink!
