How to Wear DIY: Summer-to-winter skirt

Remember this skirt I upcycled late last summer?  It was a thick t-shirt from I'm guessing the 90's.

Now it's a super comfy knit skirt, with elastic waist.  I loved it this summer, but hadn't put it away with the summer clothes--good thing, cuz it made for a cute and winter-comfy outfit when I added substantial tights and several layers on top!

Tee and vest: Old Navy. Necklace: Forever 21. Jacket: Nordstrom Rack.
Boots: Steve Madden via Overstock.com. Skirt: DIY!

The tights make it cozy--so does the vest.  Oh, and boots, the greatest invention winter has ever seen.  I rotate my black, brown, and greige riding boots all fall and winter, with cozy socks and jeans or tights.  Otherwise I would like die.

Oh, and the shirt-to-skirt tutorial?  See it here if you want to try something similar sometime!

**Addition: So excited to be linking this post to Everybody, Everywear!  My first time!  I just saw the call for black and white outfits this month, and had just done this post, so... perfect!  Check out all the black/white outfit inspirations...

  3. The idea of making a t-shirt into a skirt is great... imagine all of the crazy 90's tees that have been abandoned out there!
