More straight work pants and How to Wear DIY

I needed some new work pants for spring this year and didn't want flares, so I've been taking them in--I bought a couple pairs at Goodwill and made them straighter/sort of skinny.  I showed you some here, but here's another before/after and a How to Wear DIY of these Gap ones!

Before: flared. Very 2005, and also way too short for my legs, oddly.

Inspiration: Not quite super skinny, more just flared, like these J.Crew ones:

After: Straight!

Obviously they're a flats-appropriate length, and I normally wear flats to work.  But this weekend I wore 'em with wedges and a fun top!  It's nice to have basic but also interesting and stylish pants; a little fancier than jeans, simple enough to dress up or just throw on another piece.

Top: Limited via Goodwill. Shoes: Target via Goodwill.
Pants: DIY, made skinnier!

So, have you guys done this to any pants yet?!?

I just did something similar too! For some reason I've been into pants more than my usual dresses. I think it's such a chic look - not too feminine

  2. yes I did something like this to linen pants that I sewed that turned out super ugly :)
Love the way you styled your "new" pants with chic heels and a floaty blouse.

    1. Uh oh, super ugly is no good. Hope you could at least unpick your stitches and be back to the beginning...
      Thanks!
