Re-doing the entryway wallpaper! With something way better

Well, I’m to the point of redoing DIY projects I did at this house a few years ago…! I wallpapered this entryway with peel-and-stick wallpaper in 2021, My first wallpaper project in this house. That paper was trendy and kind of modern and never exactly perfect for this house. But, it was neutral and not offensive, and I wasn’t sure what else I would choose. But an entryway is such an important moment. When you first walk into the house, I wanted it to be really special.

Historic Tudor Revival Home Entryway Wallpaper

I looked at so many samples, but my favorites for this space were from Sandberg. I wanted something either neutral or blue and white, either toile or floral or a tree print. I found this charming trees and daisies print. I love that a lot of their patterns have background in the description on the era that they’re inspired by, and this one didn’t feel to Victorian or modern for my house.

The good thing about my peel-and-stick job is that it came off easily! You can watch that process here if you want some quick satisfaction. But then guess what! I was able to do this wallpapering job in about two hours! I remember taking days on that peel-and-stick job. Peel-and-stick is really temperamental and you can’t lift it and reposition it very easily, and it sticks to you and everything else. I remember trying to fit in little bits of it while my then-toddler watched TV. Quite stressful.

This time, I did this entire entryway on a Friday morning while the kids were at school and preschool. Traditional pasted paper is much easier to install in my opinion! Sandberg also has a really neat powdered wallpaper paste that works great. You just mix it with water and stir it up with a whisk and wait a few minutes and it is this lovely gooey stuff that’s easy to use and holds the paper on really well. They have a little kit of wallpaper tools I used this time, too.

So so happy with this improvement in this space!
