How to Wear DIY: Festive pink and red!
And happy festive month of pink and red and hearts. I have a How to Wear DIY post for you today--this post is particularly exciting because it's linked up on, Everybody, Everywear, an awesome blog that collects outfits on a theme from all kinds of bloggers! (Such a great idea, and started by a couple of also great style bloggers.) Anyway, the challenge/theme this month: Pink and Red (together!).
I'm sure you've seen lots of examples of red and pink outfits. So often they're HOT red and HOT pink, because brights are so in right now! So fun. I have a whole pinboard just for red jeans and brights.
But I wasn't sure I wanted to go that route on my Everybody, Everywear red/pink contribution. Is it possible to mix red and soft pink? Turns out it is!
Okay, was that enough red and pink inspiration for you? I may have gone a little overboard. Check my red jeans and brights pinboard if you need more. ;)
ANYWAY, you're probably ready to see my red/pink outfit!
I definitely like BRIGHT red when I do red--the darker shades remind me of the B.P. Nordstrom sweaters I wore with black pants and chunky Steve Madden loafers in 2002. But I don't mind rocking a fun bright red! So I wore this skirt that I actually recently re-made... gotta do a post on that soon.
Okay, sorry, without more ado...

The bad news, if you can't already tell, is I had some serious issues with the color on these, and that fuchsia top and my hot pink nails and lipstick--all look pretty red! So just trust me that they're a strong, bold pink, paired with my fire engine red skirt. Must learn Photoshop better...

P.S. I still owe you a post on that red skirt makeover!
