Girly boho nursery design! Mood board

I have a friend who recently moved into a charming old house and is decorating room by room. Her 1-year-old daughter's room is on the empty side and she wanted to create a playful, pretty space for her!

I collected a bunch of ideas inspired by some of her favorite pins, and helped her shop. Check out the mood board we came up with!

First, here are some of our top inspirations.

Next, here's the room "before." That paint color was there when they moved in, and she plans to paint the walls white.

She thought about doing a bold floral wallpaper for a more glam look, but it is pricy, and she also loved the tipi (or a fabric canopy) and wanted to keep it playful. And, she fell in love with this BOLD, fun rug!

She also really wanted to create a cute sitting/play nook with the tipi and a bunch of pillows and floor cushions or poufs. And I found some good ones!!!

I used the existing pieces she has--crib, tipi, custom canvas from her talented aunt--and combined the new items! Here's the finished look!

I think we got a really good mix of the existing items, including chandelier and antlers, glam and a little more playful/rustic, with the fabulous bright rug. And even the more traditional white crib, which they used for their son a few years ago too, fits in well.

What do you think?! Do you build room designs around one big piece, like a rug?
