How to Wear DIY: Re-made pleated skirt

I've been totally loving this skirt since I remade it from a frumpier one.  It's been fun to wear to work, but with spring coming any day now, I also paired it with softer, pale colors when I visited my photographer friend Becky (hence the lovely quality of these pics!) at her gorgeous property out toward Mt. Hood.  I love being out in the country!

It's swingy!
Sweater: Target via Goodwill (similar). Top: Mystery from Goodwill Outlet. Belt: Vintage.
Necklace and flats: Target via Goodwill. Skirt: DIY, recycled!

Mmm, lovely pictures, right?  Becky did our wedding and we've been buddies since!  It's very handy to have a photographer friend!  Thanks for the blog pics, Becky!

P.S. April's Everybody, Everywear challenge is pastels!  I thought the soft colors and pastel peachy pink in this outfit fit the bill.  So I'm linking this post up to EBEW pastels month!

  2. The pale colors of your outfit are perfectly set off by your belt. I really love the pictures, too. I love having friends who know how to use my camera because while I typically like to be in charge (my tripod is my best assistant), it's always nice to have a break.

    1. Gosh, yes, it is nice to have a break. I now have a remote and tripod but my husband takes a lot of my pics still, and he gets tired of it, too!

  4. Beautiful!! The soft colors are amazing, I think this is one of my favorite outfits, too. And I have to say, really like the softer toned lipstick color on you. Guess I'm just not a fan of the red, but I think this softer look is absolutely gorgeous :) Love the skirt too, I'm really wanting a pleated skirt right now...

    1. Thanks! I think there's a time for bold and a time for soft, warm lips--red is definitely bold and showy!
