14 unique affordable upholstered beds. Week 6 guest bedroom One Room Challenge!

I know I shared in week 2 about how choosing a rug is the first step for most designers, but I'll admit... the first specific product I got really excited for in this project was the bed! Another large, critical, tone-setting element of a bedroom... and I love the one we chose for this space this One Room Challenge.

However, shopping around for this one has me thinking about our next bedroom update (we might be moving upstairs sometime in the next year or two, so might have room for a king bed)... I've collected a bunch of great affordable options for UNIQUE upholstered headboards/beds!

14 favorite unique upholstered beds

Upholstered beds have been a trend for a while now, but more and more recently I'm seeing unique shapes, channel details, funky curves, and mix of metal and upholstery. No longer just the clean, rectangular lines (or froofy velvet tufted glam look). (We went with this one for this bedroom project.)

And great news, I found a ton of great options out there, most under $500 for a queen! Rounded up some favorites--after this inspo!

And I'll be honest, the look we're going for for this One Room Challenge guest room reveal is a little more midcentury modern (see the design here) but a lot of these headboards/beds are pretty versatile. With styling, color choices, and fabric/texture choice some of them could go either way.

Here's our progress on this project--even with just the bed and rug, and playing around with bedding, it's looking nice! This is this bed, this rug, and this beautiful cotton embroidered quilt set. So affordable too.
