How to Wear DIY: The burgundy jeans uniform

Wow, what a busy weekend! I guess they get that way around the holidays. I do hope to get some down time soon, but this weekend was full of crafty Christmas and house projects, and my dear, sweet husband helped me with lots of them. Pics coming soon!

But for now, sharing a How to Wear DIY from the weekend--I've been practically living in my burgundy jeans that I dyed, and wore them this weekend for Christmas tree shopping and decorating with the in-laws. This How to Wear DIY outfit features two DIYs, actually--my faux fur cowl scarf (or snood, which has apparently been redefined to mean scarf in addition to hair net...)
Sweater: BP Nordstrom via Goodwill. Fur cowl scarf snood thing: DIY! Tutorial here.
Booties: Vince Camuto, from Ross. Jeans: Forever 21 then DIYed burgundy!

These jeans and this lovely cable sweater have been staples so far this season... I haven't been shopping for myself much since the spring, really, since the summer was so busy, so having a few newer pieces has really helped me get dressed feeling cozy and fresh this season. Plus, LOVING the burgundy jeans--new take on bright jeans from last year!

Anyone else having any great outfits on repeat this December? Or anyone try dying some jeans at home?? ;)

  1. The look wonderful! Especially contrasting against the green bushes in these photos. Personally, I've been rinsing and repeating my high-waisted skinnies, boots, and berets. So easy for winter.

  5. I have never even thought about trying to dye my jeans. What a great idea. My favorite pair of jeans just got a tiny rip above the pocket. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about that.

    1. Oh, it's easy! Especially such a dark color. I haven't worn true blue jeans much all season! Colored and black and grey are the best!
