Weekend inspiration: new house!

I am sooooo excited for this weekend, you guys. We are 100% moved into the new house in that all of our stuff is there and none of our stuff is at our old place, but there are still a bunch of boxes in the garage that we were too tired and sore to bring up on moving day! Plus, there's all the stuff to organize, plus, I want to buy a couch, nightstands, entry bench, and a million other things...

So hopefully I'll have something fun to report after the weekend. At least I hope we'll have internet so I can share pics of the house on moving day! But for now, I wanted to spread the inspiration I'm feeling... a few of my fave pins that will inspire our decor in the new house.

Such calm, pretty colors... I love Alaina of Live Creating Yourself's home.

Cool, modern dining room...

And, okay, it's pretty crazy, but... what do you think about black bathrooms? Or very dark navy or brown... this would be a very cool stencil project! I'm thinking for the downstairs half-bath.

Seriously cannot decide what to do with either of the bedrooms. I think I want to paint ours, though... kind of scared of the commitment!

That's what's going around in my head these days!! Hope you all have a great weekend, and throw some energy my way if you can! I'm wiped out! =)

  1. I love black bathrooms, I think you should go for it. I am actually planning on painting my main bath black. I will probably do it in the next three weeks and will post on my blog. I think every house needs some bold statements.

  4. You need very bright lighting or a black room will feel like a dark cave. It looks good in the magazines, but they use very bright lights to photograph it. Just one of those things I have found doesn't translate well into real life.

    1. GOOD point!! Maybe I should go dark grey... and add a sconce or something.

  5. I love the black bathroom. Marsha made a good point, but as long as everything else is light and the white leaves are gorgeous and break up black. But good lighting should probably be the deciding factor. And I like the pale living room- living rooms should be calming (but the pop of pink with the flowers makes the room). Have fun!

  6. Exciting!! Congrats
My bathroom is very dark grey with a bright pink ceiling, so I would have to say, I love the idea of a black bathroom. It makes for a great moody environment. Just one tip, make sure you have fantastic lighting, and on a dimmer if possible. bright for make up applying and dimmed for a soak in the tub!
have fun in your new home!!
