Lovely Anthro cardigan copy

Earlier this spring I saved this photo to my "Inspiration: Clothes" subfolder...
How pretty, bright, and springy!  I thought how easy it would be to copy if I could find the right collar or lace to go around the neck.

Pretty much the same day, I saw this Express sweater on clearance at Marshall's for $3, missing a button and a sad leftover from the holiday season.
It's not the right color exactly, but they're both sort of jade-ey and different than anything else I have.
It sat in my project/mending/refashion pile for a couple months (eek!) and then just last week at the Goodwill Outlet I found this vintage crocheted collar.
I trimmed off the tassels and pink inner stitching, and sewed it on to the sweater!
I also took a scrap of rayon lining in the same color and made four petals to decorate the center fronts (cut out triangles, sewed right sides together, turned them right side out and pleated at the unfinished short edges).

Here she is:
Right, so I got lucky on the supplies for this and the total cost was about $3.25!!  Heee heee...
*I should point out that Jamie at Pretty Ditty did this sweater copy this week, too!  In fact, she may have been the final inspiration for me to go ahead with the project... thanks, Jamie!
