House news. Not great, but news!

I've been sharing news about our house that's under construction, as we get it, and throughout this process (we signed the papers in January) we've been soooooo excited to move into our new place! The expected move-in date was originally July 15, but things have been behind schedule since mid-June... and we didn't know our move-in date until this week.

Without knowing a move-in date, it's hard to plan much--turn in our 30 days' notice, buy a couch, whatever, but I think I was lying to myself a little that it would still be sometime in July.  Well, now the pressure's off, I guess, because we found out our move-in date yesterday and it's...

(Latest photos.) We have trees and a doorknob, but no porch...

Cabinets are in!! No doors yet, but I loooooove the color, I can tell already... (not loving the workmen's Gatorade bottle...)

Master bathroom cabinets. Hard to tell here but it's the whole wall, so long! Two sinks, I can't wait!

Not until AUGUST 21!!!!  (Forgive the mild freak-out. I'll get over it, but I'm a little anxious).

More than a month later than we were expecting, so more rent to pay and less time to enjoy the area during the summer months. But, oh well. This way we have more time to... pack? ;) Something.

But I really can't wait to move in and start doing fun DIY projects to share with you!  And, I really want a washer and dryer that work more than the bare minimum!

So, I'll be taking the next five weeks to continue to mentally prepare, and I may have to buy a few more things as deals come up. Luckily my husband's not too annoyed by the World Market dining room table we bought last weekend because it was a floor model for $200 off, in pieces wrapped in pallet wrap and leaning against our living room wall. We'll just keep walking around it, I guess!

Any tips for me to help me see this extra time as a gift?  =)  Would love to hear your wisdom!
