House progress update!!!

So, time for another house progress update! We're buying a townhouse that's not done yet, and keep checking on its progress while we twiddle our thumbs. The cabinets are picked out, the earnest money is down, but it's still not done... but, here's what's happened since you saw it last!

A few weeks ago, it was pretty cool to drive by it while they were painting it! We actually still didn't know what color it was going to be when done--I mean, one of four, but still.  Back view...

Front view, and the park area...

Then we drove by again last weekend... it's yellow! Ish. Orange-yellow-tan.

And, when we went inside last weekend...

Drywall!!  So cool to go inside now that the walls have shape and it's really starting to look like something!

Dining area...

Here's a good view from the master through to the other upstairs bedrooms.

And... yay... master bathroom!

So, the agonizing part is, they're behind schedule and we actually still don't have a move-in date. Our current place is still 0% packed, and it's hard to start when we don't have room for boxes or an end in sight! But, hey, plenty of time to peruse Craigslist and Overstock and keep an eye out for sales--we are gonna need a lot of furniture. Eek!

  1. Wow!!! How exciting to see things really coming together (even though an end date is still not in sight...). I would be getting so impatient. Hell, we haven't even finished getting our deposit up to buy yet and I'm impatient to be in a new place. hehe. Hope the time til move in goes fast!

    1. Cool, congrats!! I don't think the time has gone by fast... not yet, anyway! Maybe it will later but right now it's constantly in flux!

  4. I've never seen a neighborhood like that before...I don't think. I guess I don't know much about more urban life!

    1. Haha, it's sort of a New Urbanist-inspired take, it's in the suburbs but on the light rail line and not far from the city. It looks much nicer when the trees grow up, like around some of the older units in the neighborhood. Sort of like a brownstone/rowhouse style...

Well, it still looks like some exciting progress is going on. Most builds run behind schedule. You will forget the waiting on your very first night in your new home. Have fun and enjoy the excitement. Lucky you.

I thought that it was one big house when you first posted about it. LOL. I thought that you must be loaded. So would these homes be considered townhouses?
