Cute semi-sheer summery top


I totally knocked off one of the weird-looking model's examples from this Project Runway pattern Simplicity 3504.  I used a yellow/brown/white print instead of the black and white, but I used little dingle ball trim just like the one on the pattern.  I didn't add buttons--it didn't need them, I thought!  Haha.  It's not super cute buttoned all the way up to the crewneck, in my opinion; just needs to be a little more open.

As you can see, it's a little wide across the shoulders.  This is another case of modern patterns not fitting as snugly as we expect them to.  Seriously!  Like, my measurements say I'm a 12, I cut out an 8, and it's still too big.  Do you have this problem?  I know part of it is because I use 1/2" seams instead of 5/8" since I don't like to waste fabric, but... come on!  Sometimes people like their clothes to fit, not look like sacks!
