Personally, I love the shapes and silhouettes that came from that Simplicity Project Runway pattern above. They are a little more modern and unique.

Callie @ coffeeandcardigans.comCallie - Coffee and Cardiganshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07717331796524436480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-12805614971923953202012-01-18T07:50:11.342-08:002012-01-18T07:50:11.342-08:00That's right, @Steph, good call! It is possible to use a single-breasted pattern if you can't find double, but make sure to "find your center"!Adventures in Dressmakinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00276208940528297433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-41163692250312629712012-01-18T07:39:32.982-08:002012-01-18T07:39:32.982-08:00Great ideas--but you need to be careful working wi...Great ideas--but you need to be careful working with a single-breasted pattern and trying to make it a double-breasted. In a true double-breasted jacket or coat, the buttons fall on either side of center front. So with a single-breasted pattern, you'd first have to shift the original button placement to the right and extend both sides of center front, thus creating a double-breasted overlap. It's better to start with a double-breasted pattern and modify it.Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12181928494578487821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-91979705050449033892012-01-18T06:27:33.883-08:002012-01-18T06:27:33.883-08:00I immediately thought about simplicity 6006 (View ...I immediately thought about simplicity 6006 (View C) as it is double-breasted. It's a coat, but making it shorter shouldn't be a big issue. The only contra is that it has princess seams.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
