I was surprised, they had like 5 birdcage veils at the store I went to. They weren't anything I'd want to buy, but good for ideas.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/Browse_Accessories-Veils-BlushersSpangledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15059364091231891242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-60254395372942017162011-04-23T11:10:20.682-07:002011-04-23T11:10:20.682-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Spangledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15059364091231891242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-64346672843205200402011-04-22T17:43:51.613-07:002011-04-22T17:43:51.613-07:00I made my little birdcage veil as well. You do have to fiddle around with it as you design the shape, but I was able to get it just how I wanted. Two combs is the way to go unless you get a more sturdy/rigid netting. There should be tutorials around if you google it. You just have to read a bunch and use the parts that work best for your skill level (although yours is high, as you are a seamstress, unlike meee). Project Wedding had a pretty good one i think.

Let me know if anyone wants a link to see it (:colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16460421798248414293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-53105012241207248402011-04-22T08:29:40.225-07:002011-04-22T08:29:40.225-07:00I made a tea length veil for a friend with just so...I made a tea length veil for a friend with just some subtly sparkly tulle. I rounded the edges and did a row of beading around the bottom edge of each tier using a mixture of a whitish bead with a pearl finish and a clear bead with an AB finish. It turned out quite lovely. Very simple, but way cheaper than buying one.Franciehttp://www.franciebroadie.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-88083524155503295722011-04-21T23:00:20.438-07:002011-04-21T23:00:20.438-07:00I thought I wouldn't want a veil when I got ma...I thought I wouldn't want a veil when I got married but then I tried some on with my dress in the bridal shop. There is just something so feminine and cute about a veil. I thought I would go with a shirt veil too but then I saw this shoulder length veil with cording finishing the edges that was the perfect red shade to match the red accents on my dress. I gotta say that red cord totally made me have to have this otherwise traditional veil. It was such a little thing but it just so made my dress and upped the modernness of this veil. I wish I had thought to make it because this veil was super expensive for what it was but in the end it was so worth the money.Daniellenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-5845031595428993822011-04-21T06:13:08.578-07:002011-04-21T06:13:08.578-07:00I love the one Reese Witherspoon wore in Sweet Hom...I love the one Reese Witherspoon wore in Sweet Home Alabama at the end of the movie. I personally don't love a lot of fluff on the top of my head so I think that one is beautiful. It would be gorgeous with a vintage brooch or something homemade. I was like you and thought they were so cute and vintage, but when I tried them on (and gave it several tries) I could never get it to look that way on me. They are finicky to get right and just looked like some crazy thing stuck on my head. With just the right one (and definitely one with two combs) you could definitely make it work. But I was nervous about it getting all out of whack in pictures. I opted for a fascinator instead and LOVED it! This one actually, but there are a lot with that birdcage netting that might give you the look with less hassle. http://www.etsy.com/listing/63788285/ivory-feather-flower-with-fresh-watermissjulieraehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00015386840351475555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5757733747822094075.post-2395970677503938802011-04-20T19:26:47.025-07:002011-04-20T19:26:47.025-07:00I have seen some absolutely beautiful veils and he...I have seen some absolutely beautiful veils and headpieces on etsy.
