Minimalism - in stuff and home decor

I think about this topic a lot, largely because we are living in a teeny tiny apartment right now! But it's been kind of freeing to have almost all of the stuff that we need and use every day in these few rooms. And when we move into our next home, I think I'd like to keep things on the minimal side because it overwhelms me to have too much! But that's easier said than done.

"Minimalism" can mean a lot of different things. For me it brings to mind Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and her sequel, Spark Joy, but also the Netflix documentary Minimalism--two very different attitudes.

With Marie Kondo's upcoming Netflix series, and lots of moving and efficiency living over here (while adding a baby and lots of baby stuff to our home), keeping junk to a minimum and having a place for everything are key goals of mine!

In the episode we talk about Marie Kondo’s books and philosophy for reducing clutter in your home and wardrobe, plus the documentary Minimalism and why our culture is pointing some people to this extreme. Plus, what "minimal" looks like in a home! Hint: it doesn't have to mean no art on the walls and no rugs!
